3M Monitor Mark time and temperature indicator

Monitor Mark Time Temperature Indicators can be used for any product that is sensitive to temperature. They are mainly used in combination with packaging (such as cartons, cans, etc.) in order to monitor the condition during storage or distribution, or to be able to evaluate those containers. The indicators monitor temperature exposure, not the quality. Their goal is to indicate when the product quality should be checked. Obvious applications are the monitoring of drugs or vaccines, kits for medical diagnosis, blood substances and ophthalmic solutions.

Features

Monitor Mark time temperature indicators will show a color when exposed to the indicated threshold temperature. When exposed to a constant temperature of 2°C above the threshold temperature for a period equal to the indicated cumulative run-out time, the run-out distance will be within the limit of the specification. For the monitoring of product exposure to freezing temperatures we would like to suggest the 3m freezewatch indicators.

Technology

The time and temperature indicator Monitor Mark ™ from 3M is a rectangular, flat, laminated label which consists of layers of paper, “lm, binding agent, and other components. The format of the label is 95mm x 19mm.

The heart of the indicator is a porous indicator strip. One end is mounted on a reservoir path with a blue colored chemical substance having a desired melting point. A removable activation strip separates the indicator of the reservoir; when the strip is removed the label is activated.

A cardboard top layer includes viewing windows and is finished with a transparent protective film. The pressure-sensitive line at the bottom of the indicator allows for easy mounting on almost all clean and dry surfaces.
